A recent tip-off from a friend in Istanbul alerted us to a talented silk hand weaver in Bursa, so we drove down to meet him and see his work. Kasim Bey is one of Turkey’s rare treasures – a man who has committed himself to preserving the dying art of silk hand weaving in Turkey – a mission that is close to our hearts at Ottoman Silks. We are therefore enormously proud to bring you a selection of silk ‘opera’ scarves, hand woven in the original silk capital of Bursa.
With unique designs typical of the Ottoman period, the quality and workmanship of these scarves is truly extraordinary and a perfect compliment to our own collection.
Each scarf is made in one-off batches with hand knotted tassels and varies slightly in length. They truly are unique in every sense
Dimensions: approximately 200cm x 50cm
