The name Hatice means ‘trustworthy’ in Turkish and the design originates from an imperial kaftan woven in quilted and brocaded silk for Sultan Selim I (1512-1520). Topkapi Palace Inventory 13/42. Original kaftan lined with crimson silk, length 140.5cm.
